Gout Relief – What You Can Do To Start Treating Your Gout
Unlike cancer which gets a lot of attention and exposure, with continuous research being done to find a cure for, gout and its sufferers do not enjoy the same treatment they would have like.
Gout can be intolerable to live with at times…and this illness isn’t any less dangerous as most people would have believe.
So what can you do if you’re a gout sufferer? Here, I’m going to share a few things you may find helpful to help treat your gout.
Not many people understand what it is that causes gout or even how dangerous this illness can be. So what is gout really is? It is essentially the building up of uric acid in the articular cartilage of the joints, tendons and tissues. The inflammation it causes may result in severe pain… and may even cause severe tissue damage if left untreated.
Those who have at risk of getting this disease include people who consume too much alcohol, red meat and/or fish with chemicals called purines.
The problem with some of the common medical treatments for gout is that most of them have side effects… and many of these side effects are harmful themselves. The treatments include shots of corticosteroids or other prescription medications while over the counter, gout sufferers may take pain killers like Ibuprofen.
And by the way, do not take aspirin as it may cause the gout to get even worse. Your doctor can also prescribe medicine that’ll help to lessen the buildup of uric acid.
But like I mentioned earlier, these kind of treatments do have side effects… and mind you, some of these side effects are less pleasant than the gout itself.
However, here’s the good news: there are actually better ways to treat your gout… and of all, the best you can do is to simply change your diet. Try to avoid eating red meat and fish…also rich foods and alcohol. And make sure you drink lots of water.
This is just one way you can start right now to start treating your gout.
There are other natural treatments easily available without you having to suffer from the side effect those dangerous medications bring about.
