Gout is a disease caused by the buildup of uric acid in the joints. It results from an eminent blood level of uric acid (hyperuricemia), which occur when the liver produce more uric acid than the body can excrete in the urine, or when a diet high in rich foods (e.g., red meat, cream sauces, red wine) produce more uric acid than the kidneys can sift from the blood.
Over time, uric acid in the blood crystallizes and settle in the joint spaces, causing bulge, inflammation, stiffness, and pain.
Gout has the unique division of being one of the most regularly recorded medical illnesses all through history. It is often related to an inherited abnormality in the body’s ability to process uric acid.
Cause of Gout
Presence of uric acid crystals in joints causes inflammation of joints.
Uric acid is formed throughout metabolism of food and structure up of body tissues. When the height of uric acid increases in blood than normal levels, the uric acid forms microscopic crystals in joints. These crystals lead to inflammation of joints.
Symptoms of Gout

Preventing acute gout attacks is equally as important as treating the acute arthritis. Prevention of acute gout involves maintain adequate fluid intake, weight lessening, dietary changes, reduction in alcohol expenditure, and medications to reduce hyperuricemia.
Maintaining adequate fluid intake helps prevent acute gout attacks. Adequate fluid intake also decrease the risk of kidney stone configuration in patients with gout. Alcohol is known to have diuretic belongings which can add to dehydration and impulsive acute gout attacks.
Home Remedies for Gout
1. Include fruits like apples, banana, grapes, etc in your diet. Patient suffering from gout should eat at least 3-4 apples a day. Grapes too are very helpful in gout as it clears off the toxic acid there along with uric acid.
Banana is very useful fruit for patient suffering from gout. Patient should be given 6-8 bananas a day. If a patient can stay alive on banana-diet at least for 2-4 days then it will very effectual in curing gout.
2. Cabbage is also used for treating gout. Take two-three cabbage foliage and boil it in water till it become soft. Drain water from the cabbage and wrap it in a perforate cloth. Cover the infected area with this. Keep it for few hours; repeat this process 2-4 times a day. This will be very effective in gout pain relief.
3. Prepare a massage ointment by addition vinegar and rose petals. Take 3-4 tablespoons of vinegar and add 8-9 rose petals. Boil the combination such that both of the ingredient mix completely. Gently rub this mixture to the affected area.
4. You can also prepare an salve by mixing 60 ml of vinegar and water each. Allow it to boil, later add 1-2 teaspoon of black pepper. Cool it and then quietly massage over the affected area. This will give fast relief from joint pains.
5. Honey is also used in the treatment of gout. Take 3-4 teaspoon of apple remove vinegar and honey each. Add these into a glass of water. Stir well and obtain this 3-4 times a day.
