My dad has been suffering from gout for about 15 – 20 years now, he gets it everywhere, in his hands his feet his legs everywhere. I think its from having a bad diet, eating too much butter, and all the rich sorts of food like steak and seafood, because my dad use to travel alot, he use to go travel places for work like every 2 weeks after he got back. and he loved to fish and eat seafood and stuff. so i think this is the cause. I hope this helped!

Mostly caused by increased production of uric acid in the body as a result of high intake of types of food that contain purines which when metabolized turn into uric acid and since it is the kidneys work to get rid of uric acid in urine failure to which blood levels of uric acid will increase and its hardened form may be deposited in joints
