I would approach any “natural” and “alternative medicines” with skepticism…. There is no scientific basis for promoting the use of “cures” such as Flamasil. I would recommend you go to your doctor for some proven medications for gout, such as sulindac or probenecid.
What do you think? Answer below!

The Flamasil website is impressive in that it actually has a plausible description of what causes gout, but from what I know about herbs (which i’ll admit isn’t everything) I have very little faith that the active ingredients would cure anything. Worse, one of the ingredients is a painkiller so you might initialy think it’s working because you feel a little better.

The main ingredient in Flamasil is curcumin. There is a growing amount of research that shows that curcumin works as a natural anti-inflammatory. I know a lot of people who have success with it in treating different types of arthritis, There is a good chance that it can help a little with gout.
The problem is gout is more than an inflammatory disease. With gout your body forms uric acid crystals in your joints that are effected by the gout. There is no evidence anywhere that curcumin helps to desolve or prevent these uric acid crystals.
