Gout is a genetic defect type of disease..these ppl who have gout cant eat food containing purines*amino acids*
The accumulations of uric acids in the joints areas where it gets less blood flow but exposed to environment factors such as cold..like fingers,toes,extremities..so they bcome crystallised..and when the joint moves, the crystals causes hurt, inflammations due to frictions with the sharp edges of the crytals against our biological soft tissues in the joint
NO we cant cure gout but we can control the disease from gettin worse..
Wine and some other porducts contain properties which may aggrevate gout attacks due to its contents..

Question by : Is there any kind of alcohol that’s ok to drink in moderation if you have gout?

So long as you keep your uric acid level below 6 mg/dL you can drink anything you want. If you’re serious about beating gout you will test your uric acid level often and do what is needed to keep it in check.

As for alcohol.. beer is probably the worst. Gin or wine in moderation probably don’t hurt much. Dehydration, though, from excessive alcohol consumption can really trigger gout. So if you drink alcohol, be sure to drink lots of plain old water along with it.

I have gout, enjoy my beer, and test my uric acid level often.

Gout is a common form of inflammatory arthritis, often causing recurrent episodes of pain and swelling of the joints. Although there are effective treatments, many patients with gout continue to experience recurrent attacks. Alcohol consumption has long been suspected of being a “trigger” for gout, but this hypothesis has not been officially testée.Dans a study of 179 patients with gout who had a stroke within a year before it was found that the alcohol consumption, even a moderate amount of light, can trigger a crisis of goutte.Comparativement people who do not drink alcohol, who drank alcoholic beverages during a 5:55 period of 48 hours had twice the chance of having a goutte.Pour recurring crises of those who drank seven drinks or more during the period of 2 days, the likelihood of recurrent attacks, the decline was 2.5 times higher than those abstenus.L the effect of gout trigger alcohol takes place in a short time, perhaps less than 24 hours. Therefore, subjects with established gout, should avoid drinking alcohol. An increased risk of recurrent gout attacks was found for beer, wine and spirits.

When a friend of mine drinks over a certain amount, no matter if you’re not buzzed or drunk, you get a terrible headache and your joints start hurting really bad, everything from wrist to elbow, knee, shoulder, ankle, etc. etc. Someone said it might be gout, nobody has any idea what could cause these symptoms? Usually no pain differently.

They are on an acute gout medication for the onset of a flair up but refuses to stop drinking.
