I have had people tell me that drinking cherry juice will help a lot, dont know why, but maybe you can research it online.

Big toe joint.

If you need to ask, you need to ask a Physician. Seriously, I have arthritis, not gout, but the symptoms are similar.

Gout is a systemic disease, having to do with a chemical imbalance in your blood. There is simple treatment, but you have to have the blood test for the correct diagnosis.

Really, seriously, this can kill you. Although, it is most likely you just stumbed your toe.

I get crippling pain in my right knee. I thought it was the results of injuries and surgery 25 years ago. Can this be gout? I know I get gour in my right foot. Can it be the knee too?

It is possible to get gout in knees, elbows and hands along with the feet. However, having gout in large joints usually indicates chronic gout so you would have bad attacks elsewhere too.

There is little your husband can do to remedy a gout attack. The best thing is prevention. Staying away from foods high in purines is the first thing to do. Here is a link that shows which foods to avoid.

there is a precription med called Colchine that is used to treat gout. Until you see your doctor and look into that, I would try Aleve or Advil for pain relief.
