3 Herbal Remedies For Gout

Herbal remedies are an effective alternative to gout drugs. Here, you’ll find 3 simple herbal remedies for gout that you can carry out at home.

Gout is caused by uric acid crystals in your joints and surrounding tissue. This gives rise to the swelling, inflammation, stiffness, heat, and excruciating pain of an attack.

Uric acid crystals can form when there are higher-than-normal levels of uric acid in your blood. So, as a gout sufferer, you need to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and, reduce the uric acid levels in your blood.

Herbs have been used for thousands of years to combat many ailments and conditions. And many herbs have properties that make them ideal natural remedies for gout, e.g., anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, and uric acid reducing properties.

Here are just three herbal remedies for gout to get you started…

1 – Celery Seeds

These have many natural anti-inflammatory properties. So they can be very effective in reducing your inflammation and relieving pain.

Add a tablespoon of seeds to two cups of water and boil until they are soft. Strain out the seeds. Drink a half cup, four times a day until your symptoms disappear.

But, due to their diuretic properties, this herbal remedy shouldn’t be used by folks with kidney problems, or, by pregnant women.

2 – Bilberry

Bilberry also has natural anti-inflammatory properties to reduce inflammation and relieve your agonizing pain. But it also contains flavonoids which can be effective in treating the symptoms of gout.

3 – Cayenne Pepper

This herbal remedy can be used to treat the affected joint by external application. Make a paste of 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper, and, 1 to 3 tablespoons of wintergreen oil.

Carefully apply to the joint and surrounds, and then gently rub in using your fingers. Always make sure you never go near your eyes or other sensitive areas. And always wash your hands thoroughly afterwards.

These herbal remedies can work well. But they are really only of use during an actual gout attack…

You also need to address the serious issue of recurring gout that can eventually lead to kidney problems (e.g. painful kidney stones) and even permanently damaged joints. And once having had one attack you’re highly likely to suffer more. So you need to prevent these future gout attacks.

You’re in luck though. There’s a special gout report available online [see below] that has all the information you need in one place. It is what thousands of ex-gout victims worldwide have successfully used to prevent their gout returning. It also contains a special 2 hour gout pain relief program.

And it uses fully-researched, totally natural methods. So that you benefit two ways: (1) you get rid of your excruciating pain very fast, and, (2) you prevent your gout returning, so that you reduce the risk of permanent damage.

If you want to get gout pain relief in 2 hours, plus, prevent your gout returning in the future, then go to http://gout-relief-today.blogspot.com and discover how you can quickly do both without expensive drugs with their horrible side effects.

Causes of Gout

Gout caused due to Uric Acid Crystals

One of main causes of gout is the formation of uric acid crystals in the joints, skin, and kidneys. Uric acid is an end product of the body’s chemical processes. Those affected by gout have a higher level of uric acid in the blood than the normal, due either to formation of increased amounts or reduced amounts of acid being passed out by the kidneys in the urine. This uric acid usually remains dissolved in the blood. But when the blood becomes too full of it, the uric acid forms needle-shaped crystals in the joints which bring about attacks of gout.

Excessive alcohol, heredity, rich foods, lack of exercise also causes gout

Other causes of gout are heredity, alcoholic drinks, regular eating of foods rich in protein and carbohydrate, lack of proper exercise, and stress.

Celery seed extract will help enormously in relieving the painfull condition of gout …… celery seed contains morethan two dozen anti inflammatory compounds…. which is precisely the natural remedy you need.

aside from that reduce your protein food intake from red meats, dairy products, poultry, fish and seafood as they can raise your blood levels of purines….. in turn, purines elevate your uric acid levels and increase your risk of a gout attack.

actually a diet high in processed sugar, processed salt, animal protein, saturated fat, alcohol, caffeine, sodas and pop will all do the same thing ……. raise uric acid levels in the bloodstream thus prompting your body to rip the calcium and magnesium right out of your bones in an attempt to neutralise it ……. and possibly leading to arthritic and gouty type inflammatory pain and conditions.

i have found that if i eat sugar in any form whatsoever be it fruit or processed sugar i get vicious slamming bone pain in my fingers, wrists or toes……….. only to “spontaneously heal” if i avoid sugar completely ……. watermelon and pears are low sugar fruits and i appear to be able to tolerate small amounts of those .. and, sadly, the biggest culprit for me is potatoes and processed sugar ….. even organic brown rice makes me hurt.

go on a food trigger hunt…..strip his diet back to green vegies like celery freshly juiced and quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) … organic quinoa of course …….. two of the least allergenic foods i have found …. and then slowly add one new food in each day ……. and listen to his bodys response…… if it hurts don’t eat it……. sure it’s mind numbingly tediously boring but it’s 100% slam dunk effective …… food and chemical intolerances can produce symptoms that cover almost the whole range of “diseases” and “illnesses”…… i suggest he ditches potatoes and processed sugar …… one at a time of course and wait for the reaction.

alcohol increases uric acid production so cut right back on it or ditch it completely.

drink loads of nonalcoholic fluids like water, freshly squeezed juices and other non alcoholic fluids which will dilute urine and promote the excretion of uric acid.

mix this one up ~

240ml of cherry juice
120ml of strawberry juice
60ml of cranberry juice
1 – 2 teaspoons turmeric (organic)
1 – 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
dash of cinnamon (organic)

mix the cherry juice, strawberry juie, and cranberry juice… spice up the blend with the turmeric and ginger and add the cinanamon for flavor and drink up ……. this recipe will hopefully help you avoid a painful encounter with gout again.

if you truly wish to know which foods are triggering intolerant reactions then it is imperative that you try the organic variety.

i say organic with the powders and spices as they use some nasty sludge chemicals to “preserve” the commercial varieties …. go organic on all the ingredients if you can afford it……. with the fruits it’s not as vital to go organic if you are juicing them as the chemical and pesticide residue from commercial farming resides in the pulp not the juice.

good luck mate

peace baby
