No, I don’t have it. But I just found out that my favorite actor / singer does; Jared Leto. Can someone please explain to me what it is, and is it curable? I mean, I googled Gout and what not, and I want more answers, so can whoever actually KNOWS what gout is, explain to me, thanks.

Gout is not curable, however, it is treatable.

Gout is an inflammation of joints caused by uric acid crystals. Usually uric acid is eliminated from the body when you pee, but sometimes the body makes too much of it or can’t excrete enough.

Gout is very painful. The crystals are like little daggers and even touching the swelling is painful.

Some of the ways to treat gout include drugs such as prednisone which reduce inflammation. There are also drugs to help lower the amount of uric acid created and to help eliminate more. There are also some dietary changes that can be made to help prevent a gout attack.
