Answer by Marvinator
Stay away from foods high in purines.
Foods very high in purines include:
hearts
herring
mussels
yeast
smelt
sardines
sweetbreads
Foods moderately high in purines include:
anchovies
grouse
mutton
veal
bacon
liver
salmon
turkey
kidneys
partridge
trout
goose
haddock
pheasant
scallops
I’ve been able to control my gout WITHOUT medications. I use 2 standard Capsules of Ground Celery Seed per day (with extras on days when I know I”ve eaten high sugar, or high protein – foods rich in purines.) You can also work with NONSweatened Cherry Juice to alleviate the symptoms of gout.
