  1. Belive it or not – eat or drink some cherries.
Yep turns out cherries are a natural way to reduce the uric acid build-up that causes gout.

I beleive the tart or sour cherries work best.
If you don’t liek thenm you can also take a supplement of them but the real fruit or juice is what works best.
    Many people swear by them.

Cheers, Good luck and good health.

  5. You can apply ice for 20-30 minutes several times / day to reduce swelling and pain. If you are not opposed to taking over the counter meds, Aleve or Advil is considered best to reduce the inflammation and pain.

Hydration is critical. Drink plenty of water to flush your system of urate crystals. Vitamin C, tea, and coffee work have a diuretic affect and work against hydration.

Avoid foods that are high in purines, including alcohol, dark meats, seafood, sardines, anchovies, sugar sweetened soft drinks, asparagus, cauliflower, mushrooms, spinach, dried beans and peas.

Dairy foods have been shown to reduce the incidence of gout, as has tofu, and cherries.
