Purines in foods accumulate in gout sufferers’ tissues leading to pain. A diet too high in proteins and fats can lead to it in those genetically predisposed.

The most painful form of arthritis is gout. This is caused by too much uric acid build
up in the body andusually felt in the big toe. The accumulation of uric acid in the body
looks like lumps in the skin.
