  2. Do you mean colchicine? This is an antigout medication that is usually prescribed in 0.5mg, 0.6mg, or 1mg to be taken every one to two hours for acute attacks, but you should not take more than 8mg total in a twenty-four hour period. For prevention an maintenance treatment, the recommended dosage is 0.5mg or 0.6mg three times a day. Most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
